Conference presentation by Kirsty Fishburn

Kirsty spoke a national conference for prescribing in mental health on Tuesday 27th September 2016, which was well attended nationally. It helped promote this areas of prescribing bringing professionals together to network and promote work and research in this area. Conference presentation by Catriona Jones

Catriona presented at the Maternity, Midwifery and Baby conference on Sept 26th at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester.   It is a conference aimed at professional development for midwives, health visitors, other allied healthcare professionals wishing to update their skills and knowledge around key issues in maternity care.  She presented some findings from a 12 month mixed method evaluation of an antenatal parenting programme which has been delivered in several Children's and Family Centres across England and Northern Ireland.  The programme delivery was facilitated by a charity called Family Links, and the evaluation was undertaken by Catriona as the PI, Julie Jomeen and Fran Wadephul as co investigators, in collaboration with Family Links.

Dean Professor Julie Jomeen attends 'toppon out' ceremony for new health building

Professor Julie Jomeen, along wtih other senior members of the university attended the topping out ceremony for the new Allam Medical Building on the University of Hull Campus.  The ceremony was performed by Honorary Graduate Dr Assem Allam.  

Commenting aftrer the event Professor Jomeen said: 

The Allam Medical Building will provide a top class learning environment for our students and underpin the further growth and profile of non-medical health education in Hull, ultimately supporting a high quality workforce for the region. Health professionals and medics will be side-by-side in the new building, opening up new and exciting opportunities for both innovative teaching and research, with real benefit for the health and wellbeing of local, national and international populations.
